Hi,
i'am looking for a servlet filter based alternative for authentication/security apart from JAAS. Is Acegi the best choice or are there better off-shelf open source solutions for an architecture without Spring?

Thanks cb

There's a project called jGuard on SourceForge, which aims at simplifying JAAS specifically for use in web apps.
