This week's book giveaway is in the OCAJP 8 forum. We're giving away four copies of OCA Java SE 8 Programmer I Study Guide and have Edward Finegan & Robert Liguori on-line! See this thread for details.
Hi All, Today I finished the SCJP examination in GreenBay-WI. I got 81% in the test. Most of the questions are on basics. The test is much easier than many mock examinations except threads part. I got the least in AWT (25%) and that is my oppurtunity for improvement. One needs to be careful about layout behaviours when they get resized and effect on components added to it. I wonder as people preaching JLS and in my view, JLS is for one who wants to build a compiler. I guest we needn't scratch our heads with JLS, any certification book will serve the purpose. About me, basically I am a programmer in legacy systems(popuraly, mainframes) and I am in hurry to get certified as my performance appraisal is in nearby. Java development is my part time activity. My special thanks to Maha and I read her discussion collections till AWT. Probably I would have read AWT also. Wish you all success -Mahi
