Friends,
A big hello to all of you. I am scheduled for the SCJP 2.0 Exam on the first week of January. Today morning, when I called on our Prometric Delhi office, I was told that SCJP2.0 exam duration has been increased to 2 hrs. They told that it has been since past 2 days. Could anyone confirm? This is urgent
Also, Please read the post of Charley Wu" I was given 2 hrs to finish 59 questions. I thoght it should be 90min. I don't know why."
Thanks in advance.
NM

Hi ..
The Sun certification site is still showing 90 minutes as the official time. I wouldn't count on having 2 hours.

Howdy.
I just wrote it today ... I was given 2 hours ... I read somewhere else in JavaRanch that it changed from 90min to 120min about a week ago.
Good thing too ... I think I would have felt rushed if it'd been only 90min.

I gave the exam on Dec. 19, 2000 (in Mississauga, Canada). I had 120 minutes to complete the exam. I was expecting 90 minutes. I would like to know from when did this change come into effect. By the way I passed with 67%.
I think JavaRanch is a great site. The information and the discussions on the site really helped me for the exam. Thank you.

Arrrgghh.....I feel bad I didnt get that extra half hour.
But what the hell??? I got 89% with 1-1/2 hrs. time. Sun does strange things sometimes.

I am a very bad victom of Sun strategy of changing duration of exam like this. My exam was on 31st Dec 2000 and before that it was almost confirm that sun has increased the time to 2hr. But unfortunatelly when I started my paper I shocked to see that my paper is showing time 90 min. I just completed the 59+3 questions in 90 min (yes 3 questions about sun agreement were also included in time which wasted 2/3 min very easily) So I didn't find time to review my answers and I just get 72% marks. In mock exams I was getting 90% to 100% marks.
I am very disappointed on this strategy of Sun.

Hi Noor,
I totally agree with you.I was the person here in javaranch to
post this thread regarding time-change.
Since then, i passed my SCJP with 69% marks. Thanks to
Javaranch and the revised 120 mins time duration.
But i do feel for people who did face problems like you did..:-(
Anyway,what next???

I search information of SCJP from Internet,
From the sun India site, it said the test is 90 minutes, pass score is 71%
From the Sun USA site, it said the test is 120 minutes, pass score is 61%, but in the objective of the test, it add the part of Java.io package.
I think the USA site is newer than others.

I called up Sun MicroSystems in CA. They say the official time duration of the examination is 120 minutes now. I called up approx. 10 days ago.
