Hi,
I cleared SCJP by a pathetic score of 65%. I don't know what to feel about this. Although I have to concede that my preparations were minimal due to constraints of time.
But the question, I face now is that where do I go from here. Obviously I need to do a great deal more coding.
Hope this doesn't sound like a self-prophecy but I am just about done with my MS in Industrial Engg, Kansas state. Our forte is Logistics ,but we end up using IT a lot particularly Java and Oracle. I am currently involved in my MS project which involves Java (servlets, JDBC-ODBC) and Oracle in trying to develop a "3 tier sales and inventory system specifically for downstream B2C". I am sorry if this is the wrong kind of post on this discussion board, but I have gained a lot from this discussion board on things which are sometimes irrelevent, but still useful.
One more consideration is that I have no job experience, and hence I would need the right kind of start to jump start my career.
Apart from logistics, I can say that I have a fair knowledge about databases and a few basics of networking (routing/switching).
So in this regard, I would really be grateful if someone, particularly the Sheriffs have any advice to offer on this.

I too am an industrial engineer with a masters degree. You will find that your computer proficiency will give you opportunities that other IEs will not have. You will be sought out to solve problems that others can't.
