I was very elated after getting the print out. It was one of those things where you have no idea how you did. I wasn't even sure I passed until I saw the score. Kinda reminded me of the SAT from high school.
I used JQPlus, Jxam, online notes, JavaRanch roundup games, and a couple web exams, the S&H book. Total preparation time was roughly 2 months. A lot of the OO principles learned in college computer science classes are useful. I think knowledge of UML helps a lot in understanding and drawing out complex inheritances, especially for casting and conversion problems. On my scratch paper, I had a lot of UML diagrams that assistance in solving problems visually.
For benchmarks
JQPlus exam 1 - 70%
JQPlus exam 2 - 73%
I found Jxam to be the most convenient tester because you can choose how many you want to do, and generally I do 15 questions in about 10 minutes getting 13/15 or so each time.
JQPlus is definitely the most thorough tester and more difficult than the actual exam in my humble opinion. I actually only purchased it two days before the exam on the recommendation from a friend. I suspect if I had more time with it, I could have had more confidence going in and scored in the 90's easily.
In the real exam I went very very slowly, as most of my mistakes from practice exams were not due to lack of understanding, but careless errors. Generally in web based mock exams, I finished under 50 minutes, but on the real deal, I used up 110 minutes.
I have a couple questions now.
Firstly, on the bottom of the first page of my printout, it says that you can find scores for examinations you have taken via the certification database. Where is this certification database? Can someone provide me with a direct link to the URL.
Additionally, now I will begin preparation for the Developer exam, are there any books that people recommend, perhaps design pattern type literature?

Rahul,
JQ+ turnaround time is less than a day.
IMNSHO, If you didn't plan to buy it earlier (before your exam date), than you really never did intend to buy it at all. You shouldn't ask someone else to break the law by sending it to you.
