Hey everyone,
Here are some stats from Pauls site at http://www.jdiscuss.com/index.jsp?tab=scjp&option=VAR
--The average person that takes the JQ+ tests scored 4.62 points more on the actual test.
--The average person that takes Marcus Green's tests scored 5.25 points less on the actual test.
--The average person that trys the rules roundup here at the ranch scored 13.1 points less on the actual test.
So the rules round up and Marcus's tests look to be easier than the actual test, while JQ+ looks to be harder. But the JQ+ scores seem to be much closer to the actual scores received. Could be because the JQ+ test more closely matches the real one? I dont know I haven't got JQ+ yet. (I'm in my final 6 weeks of study for the test so you'll get my order in a week or two Paul.)
Keep in mind too, that the format for all of these is very different and that there are, so far, very few results to base these on. The more scores reported the better the generalizations that can be made.
So the more people that report their scores the better the people that are studying can judge their own preparedness.
hope that helps someone

Dave

Hi Dave,
Just a comment on the Rules Round-up game; it's geared to fundamentals. I don't believe it was meant to emulate the real exam; more to drill you on basics.
Paul and Marcus spend a good deal of time trying to make sure their exams display the same degree of difficulty as the real exam; hence, the closer scores.
One thing, if people score less on the real exam than they score on Marcus' exam, wouldn't that make Marcus' exam slightly easier? Same for the Rules RoundUp?

Oops...the reverse is actually what you mean, I think.

In the header to my exams I claim that the real thing may be harder. Looks like I'm right

My real experience is that Marcus' tests are so popular that it's impossible for you to not come across some of his questions if you go over exam notes circulated on the internet or join discussion in some java forums. As such, it's very probable that because of one's knowledge beforehand that makes his tests easier.
As such, I did believe, if we discount this factor, Marcus' is really a good estimation at the moment. Just to be fair to Marcus.

As requested by many users, now it also includes Date and a more convenient way of submitting the scores.
