i want to thank everyone here and of course the great people who maintain other java related websites (marcus green, maha, etc). for those of you that are getting ready to take the exam. i recommend doing the following steps: 1- just start writing code, start with the simple 'hello world' and when you can program a simple game( i used blackjack ) then start studying for the certification 2- study for the certification with 2 certification study books. plus look over marcus's(jchq.net) tutorials and maybe javaprepare.com's tutorials on the topics. plus look through a lot of dicussions here at javaranch. 3- take the mock exams. to this the last 10-14 days before you take the exam. as you miss questions on the mocks go back and re-study those topics from your books and notes. keep taking these until you are getting 75-85% on these. i was getting about 70-75% on jqplus, 80-85% on marcus's tests, and i got a 83% on the Sun test. anyway, thanks again for all your help. and good luck to anyone getting ready for the test. let me tell you it feels great to cross this hurdle.
