I cleared the certification with 88% and this site helped me a lot. This site woke me up to get the better of myself.
I have been preparing for the exam for about 4-5 months. Everyday for long hours..That way i really wanted to absorb the concepts rather than cram them.
I am a business analyst and it has been sometime since I have coded. This site inspired me not took just look at java just for certification purposes but added that achive certification along the way of learning and enjoying java. This site and the folks here have been a great inspiration to me. I am sure U will continue to inspire folks in the future.
I read Bill Brodgen Exam Cert once. It threw me off initially. Then I read RHE probably twice (Bill probably made it easier for me). To really prepare for the exam..I picked up Velmurugan's notes..Notes are great!!! I think that is just what I did for the last three months..assimilated his notes and Jane's notes on Thread and I/O.
I was apprehensive of Thread and IO after reading the messages on this board. So, I understood the imporatnce. Guess what, I got 100% in both and of course a few more. My weakest area was/are Flow control (I do not have patience to go thru the loop..) and of course util..(what the hell do they DO!!!)...
and of course JQ+.. For the last month I have looked into JQ+ (all the section and their explanations)..Good job guys!! For 20 bucks it equips u with all that you need for the exam.
I would suggest that go thru the notes and note down against each of them the examples that u come across (from the mocks and JQ+) and will come in handy to understand concepts as well as prepare u for the exam. Thread was almost similar to the ones in JQ+.
Although I never have posted on this board. I do come here frequently to read. Thanks once again for all the people who post with questions and all those who take the time to analyze, throw light on them.
Wishing all of you the very best for the exam. And once again thanks to you all.
Probably going for my PMP..Project Management Certification Next.

Thanks every one.
Hi Greg,
1.Velmurgan's notes. He has spent lot of time and effort to prepare it.
2. JQPlus is mock exam software you can purchase. The link is -- It has got a collection of about 600 questions of various toughness in all the areas of certification.
Hope that helps.
