Well atleast I no longer feel intimidated by Java guys . Now that Java has begun to fascinate me I guess I gotta polish my skills further by working on medium sized projects. Preparation Tools: RHE, Exam Cram, Java 2 Complete reference. If I had made serious use of these my % would have soared. When properly used I reckon one can ace the exam with these. Study guides: The list of Traps by Maha Anna, Ajith, and so many others really helped. About Mocks I took: Now folks dont laugh. First time I tried them got a teeny weeny 30% . One day before the exam got 56% . The day I took the exam scored 83%. All on JQplus. I practiced on Jtest and Jexam too. Though not much. I found this simple solution to score well in mocks. Take the same exam again and again till you score high. That is a sure confidence booster. Important Exam tips: 1) Dont lose your sleep previous night. I was watching Robinhood movie and Christina Aguilera's songs and afterwards could not sleep. Some exam questions have lengthy sentences which require quick comprehension. 2) Though IO, Threads, AWT are a must, there were a lot of code snippets. Its imperative that one needs to practice a lot with them. 3) In spite of covering all the study materials, if you still think you are not ready. Read "The power of positive thinking" by Norman Vincent Peale. It surely helps. Thank you notes: 1) A big thank you for all who share their experience and knowledge here to help beginners. Valentin Crettaz, Marcus Green thank you guys for some great mocks. 2) My parents, brothers for tolerating my tantrums and to my friend who lent me a copy of Java 2 complete reference.
Hey congrats. You got the same score I got. Don't worry to much about score. I mean look at me, I am respectable. I have passed the SCJD 96% and SCWCD 71% after I passed the SCJP. You can too. Good Luck and I will see you in the other forums. Mark
