Hey all, well after about 6 months of hardcore studying, and failing the test on May 1st by ONE POINT!!, I have finally passed the SCJP2 exam with 77% by far, more than I expected or hoped for. I'd been happy for 61% after that torture two weeks ago. But I'm totally happy with 77%. Im just don't know what to say(even though I've said alot already) I'd like first thank all the people here at the Ranch, who without your help and advice, I'd been lucky to get 40%. Specialy thanks to Marcus Green, Valentin, Corey, Rob, and all others who've given me advice. Since I didn't use JQ+ I can't really sing its praises, but I know it helps many. But the thing that helped me these final weeks was Vel's notes and Valentin's mock. I printed them both out and went over them alot. Now for the exam breakdown: I panicked within the first 20 questions because about 10 of them were IO, which I studies less on. But I was well prepared this time for the attack of Thread questions. Test Analysis: Declarations and access control = 75% flow control and exception handling = 100% garbage collection(Just one question. I figured I missed it)= 0% Language Fundamentals = 77% Operators and Assignments = 85% (was 57%) Overloading, Overidding, etc, etc = 71% (was 48%) Threads = 71% (was 42%) java.awt = 100% java.lang = 100% java.util = 100% (was 0%!!!) java.io = 40% To people going for exam, focus on your Threads/IO first, then goto Overloading and the collections. then everything else just fits together. Well I'll be around still. Not sure where I'm going, but I'll be going in style! Travis B.
