I know its not as impressive as the 93% of the Great Java Master Maha Ana, but I passed the freaking test and thats all that matters!! Thanks Javaranch!! Francisco

Excuse me, Arthur, but a pass is a pass. As far as I'm concerned, a 62% is as good as a 92%. Either way, you're now a SCJP. I've known lots of programmers (many that I went to school with), that could code me under the table anyday, but they couldn't pass a test to save their lives. Congratulations, Francisco! You've done very well. Best of luck on the SCJD!
Thought I'd add to this, because everyone has an opinion, right?
I've always had a pretty easy time in academics. Perhaps that's because I've been very careful to only select courses I know I can do really well in, or maybe I'm really that smart. Who knows. But suffice it to say that I'm an A/A+ student.
So whenever a friend of mine is really happy and excited about getting 75% on a test I am happy for them. If *I* got that score, I'd have to take out my self-torture kit and give myself a few minutes with the cat-o-nine-tails. But they worked hard for that 75% and just like other people have said... a pass is a pass.
Just to prove that I'm not a total jerk (can anything prove that?) ... I'll tell you my own 'success' story. I was in a course on Electronic Devices, which was a required course. Ask me today what a MOSFET is or a BJT, and I'll give you a blank stare. I mostly gave blank stares back then, as well. My God.. I actually had to STUDY for this class. I had a friend of mine (also the A/A++ type) help me out, was over at his place into the early hours going over things with me. I was looking at failing the course. I was almost convinced I woul. Long story short... I got a 'D' in the final.
I have never in my life been so happy to get a 'D'. The feeling of accomplishment was quite amazing, and I'm still proud of it! I would take a hard-earned D over an easy A+ any day.
So lets all remember that not everyone is going to get 98% in *everything* they do.
And oh yah... I still haven't taken my own Certification yet. Do I want to get 98%? Yes. Will I be happy with a 70%? You bet. Will I be happy with getting 1% more than a pass? Probably not, but you know what? I'll be a SCJP and anyone that can't keep their negative comments to themselves can kiss my apps.
