This week's book giveaway is in the Mac OS forum. We're giving away four copies of a choice of "Take Control of Upgrading to Yosemite" or "Take Control of Automating Your Mac" and have Joe Kissell on-line! See this thread for details.
Here are the results of my SCJD 1.4 beta assignment: This report shows the total 1.4 SCJD points that could have been awarded in each section, and the actual number of points you were awarded. This is provided to give you per-section feedback on your strengths. The maximum possible score is 400; the minimum to pass is 320. Total score: 352 General Considerations (maximum = 100): 99 Documentation (maximum = 70): 70 O-O Design (maximum = 30): 30 GUI (maximum = 40): 29 Locking (maximum = 80): 44 Data store (maximum = 40): 40 Network server (maximum = 40): 40 Apparently I need to work on my GUI and locking stuff  Otherwise the rest seems to be fine.
Congrats Val ! We hear this over and over again - the locking is obviously important, but everyone seems to know that. The surprising thing is that almost everybody gets nailed on the GUI portion also. So, the unexpected area to watch out for is the dreaded GUI. Anyway, congratulations again! -Bert
