Hi Friends,
Its a really good feeling to get that score. I have lost 4 questions (I mean i marked them wrong) but I was very happy the way i answered the Threads questions. They were very difficult and needed a lot of application and I came out with a cent percent in Threads. There were quite a few tricky questions , which could get you on the wrong foot, so be careful.
My thanks for this particular Topic goes to Dan Chisholm. He has a very good collection of Thread problems on his site.
I owe so much to both Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates for a wonderful book. Keep up the good work. Its infact more of a fun book than a technical book. I really enjoyed it so much that I ended up reading some of the chapters 4 times
Apart from that , I was one of the lucky winners of JQplus beta version and that helped me get a lot of practice.
Having said all this,
I would recommend anyone who is taking the test to go through all of the Dan C's exams. His questions cover all the topics and also, in enough detail. You cannot go wrong on the final exam once you are good in them (of course + Kathy and Bert's book).
Collections was easy....there were some typos in the exam and that can mislead you (I guess someone has pointed this out already)
My strongest part turned out to be Threads...thats because I concentrated an extra bit by reading all the reviews here.
Dont worry much about time limit. There is loads of time.
I have prepared for about close to a month now. And, needless to say, I am satisfied with the result
Last but not the least , Java Ranch in general and some people in particular have been very helpful.
I have named some of them in the above paragraphs but the others are
Valentin Crettaz,
Jose Botella
and some others who stimulated my mind to think
Jasper Vader .
Most of his posts cover some basic details but he never gives up till he understands the whole thing. I learned a lot from his posts. Hopefully, he comes out with a good score too...
All the best dude !!!
I am done with my speech
