I Passed Part I with 95% I think that I know what was wrong with the Component Diagram .. I guess, I will have the opportunity to check that in two years ... Thanx to all that participated in this discussion group, you have been a great help!

I am studying CS, so I cannot say that I read all of them only to pass the part II of the SCEA certification, but the most useful books were: Sun Certified Enterprise Architect for J2EE Technology Study Guide (Cade/Roberts) Developig Enterprise Java Applications with J2EE and UML (Zaman Ahmed/E. Umrysh) UML Distilled, Second Edition (Fowler/Scott) Design Patterns (Gamma/Helm/Johnson/Vlissides) Core J2ee Patterns (Crupi/Alur/Malks) EJB 2.0 Spec

I think that the problem was, that i had one component on which two tiers (web and ejb tiers) were depending (I guess, I was too focused on reuse and forgot to take care of the layering)

Have you shown all details on the class diagram like method names with parameters and member variables? Or did you show only the classes itselfs?

All I can say (I hope that i do not violate any of the sun certification policies with this) is that my class diagramms look pretty much like the class diagrams in the Cade/Roberts book.

Thanx Jimmy, I gave myself a deadline for a Part I: two weeks ... and it worked (even better than I expected).

Wow! That was quick, really quick! What material did you use for preparing Part I, AFAIK there are about 3-5 books, I don't see any chances that I could finish in 10 weeks ( Thanks a lot,

Well here is how I did it ... I read ejb 2.0 spec (it wasn't much of a problem since I have 2+ Years in EJB Development), read JTA 1.0.1 Spec, chapters 1-7 from the Cade/Roberts book, I refreshed my memory on j2EE and Design patterns, made sure that I understand the basics of UML, and took for a two days in a row four times a day one mock exam (the scea@whiz and other available exams) ... taking so many mock exams gives you speed and the routine in the real test (worked in SCWCD test too!). That's it ... the only thing is to have enough time for the preparation (2 weeks, 8 hours/day) and to be able to handle stress.
