Hi Ranch, First of all I would like to Thank Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates for giving an excellent book for certification without which I would have never passed this exam. Thanks to Javaranch for helping me to attend Mock Exam. Guys/Gals I have few Questions 1. Is 83% is decent enough to put on resume. 2. What are all the things I need to add in my resume ( ..like logo...etc and where do I get it ) 3. What are all the things I will be receiving from Sun. Thankyou
Ramesh - Excellent !!! 83 % is a great score! You have to remember that JavaRanch is a very special place! Some people here get higher than 83%, but if you step away from JavaRanch and look at all of the people who take the exam, you will see that 83% is great! Glad the book helped! -Bert
Spot false dilemmas now, ask me how!
(If you're not on the edge, you're taking up too much room.)

Bert, I'm sure that Sun tracks the mean and standard deviation of the scores. Is that something that can be shared here at the ranch?

Dan and Ramesh - Sun doesn't tell us those stats . But, we do know that a LOT of really strong Java experts took the beta exam a year ago, and based on those results Sun decided to lower the passing rate to 52% ! I don't know how many of the JavaRanch regulars participated in the 1.4 beta, but in general the beta's get pretty strong candidates. You can't determine absolute numbers from that, but Sun DOES want their certs to be tough, and they STILL lowered the mark to 52%! -Bert
