Does Sun give you any suggestions on what
your marks were on the test? Sun must be
VERY strict if I failed.......

Hi Zak,
You cannot fail the test (unless you leave questions unanswered), however Prometric sometimes marks the test as failed in the cert manager database. I think it has something to do with timing: when they think you did the exam / when they pass the exam data to Sun / when Sun acknowledge it. It is a problem (if it was pure software we would call it a bug) but details are sketchy and the problem doesnt seem to be going away
So if all you have is a fail mark against your exam: don't worry (although you can write to Prometric if you like).
If you fail the assignment, you should either get a description of the major area you failed (missing runme.jar file) or you should get a points break down for each section showing where you lost points. If you did not get either of these then you have to write to Sun and get clarification.
Regards, Andrew

Hello Zak,
Please look-up the threads started by myself and Vanessa Hall in the "Sun Certification Results" forum. We both passed inspite of the initial shock of seeing the failed grade. Basically, the new cert manager is messed up. You need to log-in on the "old" cert manager site and look-up your result and score there.
Hope this helps.
Regards.
Bharat

Thanks Andrew and Bharat,
The failing grade is posted in the "new" certmanager, and no
grade has been posted in the "old" one. I hope that you are right
about the problems with the certmanger software. The shock of apparently failing has ruined my day...
But I will let everyone know what happens when I receive more clarification.

that's a bitch. i'm not surprised it ruined your day.
given how much work people put in, you'd think they could do it a bit better.
good luck on your real grade!

Horray.

Hi Zak,
Great !
Now you could edit/change the title of this thread, replacing "Failed" by "Passed" ...
Regards,
Phil.

Congrats!!
BTW, which is new certmanager and which is old one? can somebody post the link here? I am checking my result at the following link:
http://www.certmanager.net/sun_assignment/assignment.html.
(this is where I uploaded my exam too)
It has been more a week since I wrote the essay exam. I know SUN is taking time to evaluate the projects. But I need to make sure that I am checking at the correct location.
Thanks,
Manoj

Hi Manoj
You are going to the correct site.

From Sun
We have launched two Certification databases. The Sun Certification I7
database manages all of your certification exams:
https://i7lp.integral7.com/durango/do/login?channel=sun&basechannel=prometric
whereas the Assignment Watcher specifically monitors our two assignment
based exams:
http://www.certmanager.net/sun_assignment/
You may only download and upload your assignments in the Assignment
Watcher. Furthermore, you may only view assignment comments in this
database. Only your score will appear in the Sun Certification I7 databas

Thanks a lot Andrew. Sorry for the duplicate posting. It was just out of the fear that the posting here may get ignored. (I felt that very few members come to this result forum and so posted again in the other forum) I will avoid this in future.
