This week's book giveaway is in the OO, Patterns, UML and Refactoring forum. We're giving away four copies of Refactoring for Software Design Smells: Managing Technical Debt and have Girish Suryanarayana, Ganesh Samarthyam & Tushar Sharma on-line! See this thread for details.
I am a SCJP 1.4 since April, and now a SCMAD 1.0 as for... mm.. November; and the idea is to be a SCWCD by December... by the way, the grades (not that I am all that proud of them but a pass is a pass) are:
SCJP - 88 SCMAD - 72
"Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. <br />So far, the Universe is winning". <br /> <br />Rich Cook
I read Sathya's notes; Knudsen's book (Wireless Java <- Good for UI and Game); a couple of JSRs (for JTWI, MIDP, CLDC, WMA and MMAPI) and I had to stop using Eclipse to program (I think is much better to program without any help when preparing for certifications because of all the errors and exceptions you get; specially since you'll be asked to recognize them).
I think that's about it.... also, keep it together before and during the exam! There's nothing worst than being nervous during the exam.
Hope this can help... by the way; any pointers for the SCWCD 1.4? Im taking it next wednesday (December first) Ive already gone through the head first book (best IT book I ever read! ) but still what should I focus on? Anyone?

Well, that's the only one resource that you need for the exam... I did Beta exam of SCWCD 1.4... So I have any idea about exam specific books like that... But HF EJB is the only resource that I use to prepare for the exam... I believe HF Servlets and JSP would follow the same way as HF EJB... Hope it helps...
Anyway, thanks for sharing your exam experience with us...
