Hi,

Last thursday I passed SCJP 1.4 with a score of 70%. Not very impressive, but I've too much things in head (woking full-time while earning a degree, ect.)
I used:
- "A programmer's guide to Java certification"
- "Sun Certified Programmer & Developer for Java 2 Study Guide"
- the questions from ******

Well, I become addicted to certifications (my boss now even smiles at me, the certification has improved my life). So I'm seeking advice for the next certifications. I've a lot of experience with Servlets-JSP, so I suppose that the obvious choice whould be SCWCD. The fact is that I'm strongly attracted by SCJD, in order to learn things that never see at work (GUI, RMI, etc.), but my low skill in English discourages me for the essay part.

Any advice will be welcome, many thanks in advance.

First of all, congrats for joining the SCJP club

I agree that you should take SCWCD, it might be the easiest and quickest one for you. The essay exam is in fact not so difficult (I took it last weekend), it seems it is more a verification that it was really you who worked on the exam.

I do not think your english skills are bad at all, I am not a native english speaker either (deutsch anyone ?), so I think you should go for it if you are attracted to it

Many thanks to all. I'll follow your advice and I'll try SCWCD this summer when I'll finish june exams. SCJD will have to wait althrough I'm tired of developing web, web, and only web.

I laughted a lot with "Sun Certified Programmer & Developer for Java 2 Study Guide", so I'll pick "Head First Servlets & JSP". Any other book recommendations?
