I just returned from the test center having scored 93% ( 57/61 ). Like John said in another thread, I expected it to be a little more challenging. The questions from Collections were the simplest. There were no twisted questions or tricky ones.
Anyways I cannot be complaining as I am about to get back to work after a complete break of 3 years. ( Needed this cert. as a morale booster than anything else! )
All I can say to the aspirants is that we should try to understand the concept and try out as much code as possible. Don't just study for the sake of scoring in the test, have a broader goal of knowing what you do. Mock exams help a lot ( I did Dan's tests a lot, 3 of Marcus Green, Javacertificate, Whizlabs free test and not to forget the Javaranch Rules Roundup, what fun!). Having core Java experience helped me a lot as I couldn't put in any serious effort in continuous studying.
I made do with my ancient edition of Mughal & Rasmussen and 3rd edition of Roberts & Heller. Though I have no K&B reference material, this gave a kick start.
Congrates man At the end the logo and certification matters after clearing the test. And the fact its bit easy can be a strategy from sun to meet the sun professional demand from market and boost its presense.
And ofcourse the point you made. skills realy matter as i can say You don't prepare for exams .. Exams are there to test your skills..
Congrats once again keep posting and helping each other
