Hello Dear Rancher Friends, Today I cleared SCWCD exam with 92%, feels like an achievement. THANKS A TON to the authors of book "Head First Servlets and JSP". Once again the book proved excellent for certification preparation. My deep felt thanks to all the SCWCD-forum-participients, who appeared in forum every now and then, were always there to listen to problems, questions and always there for giving guidance!!! Special Thanks to few people Chowdari, Sanjay and Narendra who spared time with my questions... I apologize if I am missing anyone's name. I screwed up with 2 questions from patterns, 1 from standard actions, 1 from servlet technology model and 1 from web app deployment. I had prepared extra-well in patterns, but exam questions were way-confusing. About Preparation Tips: 1. Book - Of course "HFSJ" 2. Study Guide - http://java.boot.by/wcd-guide/ 3. Enthuware Mock Questions 4. Other mock questions listed in my signature below. I took total 3 months of lazy preparation (2-3 hours a day). The most time-comsuming BUT important was doing hands on for each and everything. I used tomcat for this. This was must otherwise in my opinion there is no point of getting certified. About exam... of course there were 3-4 questions from DD/TLD elements. Patterns questions were *really* confusing, in fact I doubt those questions were buggy, there should have been checkboxes instead of radio button :-) Drag drop questions were not so difficult, once attempted and passed through you can not go back and see what you answered so be cautious. The distribution of questions topic-wise was very symmetric. The difficuly level of questions was very average, bit tricky but no. of correct answers to be chosen is known so that really helps. What's next? Dont know.. right now I am in 'HAPPY' mood Dont want to bother myself about what's next.. my EJB is very poor... may be SCBCD.. god knows. ALL THE BEST to those who are yet to appear in the exam!

Congratulations!!! Yes, you're right, the next obvious target is SCBCD. Fortunately, there are a few good books available: SCBCD Study Kit from Manning. Check it out at www.manning.com/sanghera I have found this book explaining things in a very simple and cohesive way. And, HF, of course. Good luck.

Thanks so much friends! It feels really good to get so many compliments, really wondering about those serious people getting certified without coming on this forum and missing so many friends and compliments from them. BTW, are there any such people? The forum is awesome because of so friendly, good, skilled still simple innocent people! Thanks again for so many compliments. I would try to remain active participient in the forum at least for some time until I get on top of another journey! Hi Bert, Its really nice to see your reply. Yesss, the book is really simply GREAT! I have referred the book to at least 70 people in my organization, not because I expect any deal from you but because I really reallly like the book. THANKS for all the effort, time you have put in writing such book. I am going to refer HFE also for my next certification, sure that would be equally pleasant experience. Hi Mikalai, Your notes are in so simple easy-to-understand language I really like that. And all the boxes for quick reference are just great, actually very good for quick-recap of things before exam! Thanks Much!! [ July 06, 2005: Message edited by: Anand Wadhwani ]
