Hi friends,
Cleared the SCWCD exam with 92% today. Thanks to all ranchers for replying to my queries and posts.
My preparation:
Previous working experience on JSP, Servlets.
HFSJ and SCWCD Exam Study Kit (Study Kit book only for chapters on custom tags).
JWebPlus mock exams.
Total time invested: 45 days (For me, its a 6-day wotking week  , so most of the studies on Sunday noons).
Javaranch SCWCD forum daily visits.
As for the exam itself, the paper has a fair amount of questions on EL and standard actions. I found the questions on the jsp:useBean action really tough and ambiguous.
Nevertheless, I am satified.

Are we talking about the Hanumant Deshmukh et al "SCWCD exam study kit"?? Did u find it a good source?
Are u planing of taking the the enterprise bean certification? I've heard that noone is using EJB anymore and are doing Spring instead. What do folks at Javaranch feel about that... should u take the EJB certification if you wanna show off your skills to future employers?

The JebPlus s/w costs 550 INR. It has 7 test suites (each with 69 questions). You can purchase it from www.enthuware.com
pls tell me ...is HFSJ and jwebplus are sufficent for getting 90%...
do we have to study the specs also ..?
HFSJ and JWebPlus are enough for clearing the exam, though you might want to have a copy of Desmuk's SCWCD Study kit a hand as well.
You might need to refer to the specs at times, to clear some of the concepts.

I visited the site. It says (35 $) for JWebPlus V4 Full Version. Thats almost
1500 rs. How did u get it for 550.
