Just got my 90% at SCJP exam. This is definitely thanks to Kathy Sierra's and Bert bates' study guide - it is written exactly in the language which was needed to get me ready for the exam. My 100% for Language Fundamentals are definitely thanks to String peculiarities in the book, and I even managed to get 100% for threads.

Kathy and Bert, thank you!!! I wish you had written something for SCWCD exam!

They have written a book for SCWCD: a Head First book. Search in the SCWCD forum, and you will find it

Thanks, Sara!

It is not completely by Kathy and Bert but I hope they made a significant input to it . Or maybe the main author isn't worse. Just ordered the book at Amazon. Do you know something of the same quality for Web Services certification?

Hi Alexander, i am wishing you on passing the exam with flying colours. I am interested in giving SCJP1.4. I am reading Khalid Mughal book. I want to know the actual name of book by Kathy Sierra's and Bert bates book also. Is it available on web or i have to buy it.

Thanks a lot, Bert! Why don't you write much more books I wonder?!

If you don't mind, my favourite book of yours is that one for SCJP. REALLY inspiring! Those "Head First", I don't like them that much. I'd say they a trying to make things easier than they are, which is slightly misleading

Well, I bought mine at Amazon.co.uk. I always prefer to have a paper copy, after the whole day at the computer, even if I adore it...

As for the name of the book, here it is (however, check for the newer edition):

Sun Certified Programmer & Developer for Java 2 Study Guide (Exams 310-035 & 310-027), by Cathy Sierra and Bert Bates

Never read anything better and... invigorative!
