This is a great board, although I did not contribute much, I used this board for searching answers to my questions. My score is low, but what matters is that I have passed.
Score: 347
The maximum possible score is 400; the minimum to pass is 320.
General Considerations (maximum = 100): 99 Documentation (maximum = 70): 70 O-O Design (maximum = 30): 30 GUI (maximum = 40): 24 Locking (maximum = 80): 44 Data store (maximum = 40): 40 Network server (maximum = 40): 40

There are 3 things I messed up, 2 of them I realized after submission. The first is the GUI which I knew at the time of submission that it was not the best. I used the defaulttablemodel and did not provide any sorting in columns.
I found a bug in my locking after I submitted my assignment. I also did not use timeouts in my wait which I later thought was a problem.
Thirdly, I inadvertently left my RMI Security code in there, which was not needed.

Once again thanks to all the contributors of this forum. Good luck to everyone.

Congratulations
I have a question though:
I used the defaulttablemodel and did not provide any sorting in columns.

Can you please clarify what do you mean by "did not provide any sorting in columns", are we suppose to sort the columns? My initial understanding is that the columns will have a predefined order, typically the name, followed by the location etc...?

Thanx

What I meant was that I did not sort based on a cloumn if the user were to click on the column header. So I get 10 records from a search, the user can then sort based on the cheapest rate by just clicking on the "Rate" column, sorting it in an descending order. I did see that as a useful feature, but I guess I was worn out because of change of jobs, location, etc to put this feature in.

Without giving away too much, I implemented a flexible search from the GUI, with 3 main panels, search and results panel on a JSPlitPane and 3rd panel for entering the customerID and placing order. I also had a menu and status bar, with online help.

Take a look in the JavaRanch SCJD FAQ - you will find the two URLs, with an explanation of why each of them exists.
