Hi all,

First and foremost I would like to thank Kathy & Bert for their excellent work in the form of HFSJ. I did not have any great practical experience in
Servlet & JSP, even then the book helped me understand the fundamentals easily. It was a good learning experience. I went through the book twice
and solved the coffee cram exams at the end of the chapters and solved the final coffee cram mock exam a few days back.

Congratulations Jayashree

Can you please tell us your score in the Final mock exam from HFSJ
I am also preparing from HFSJ.
Is there any topic you came across in the exam that is not fully covered in the book and which we should consult apart from the book?

thanks in advance.

Jeff,

I got only 65% in my final mock But the point here is the final mock exam is pretty tough compared to the actual exam.
It would be better if you can browse some topics like Filters, patterns and JSTL. Questions on JSTL could be quite confusing and its better to have some study notes for these topics.

Congrats Jayashree !

That's a fine score on a really tough exam.

BTW, if you have any specific thoughts about topics that we should cover better we'd love to hear them!

Hi Bert,
First I would like to thank you for your excellent book.. I have the following suggestions on the book.
1. There are certain questions included in the coffee cram like question on dynamic attributes(qn no 7), custom tags(qn 2), tag file model.. these topics could be dealt elaborately in the book... I know you are always on the forum to help us out.. But all aspiring SCWCDs are registered here..
2. In Filters, i found the coffee cram questions a bit diffcult to answer. Hence things like "a filter could stop further request procesing" can be explained a bit further.
The points i mentioned are my humble views and not to take any credit away from you and your team. Its a great work and hats off

Shanthi,
I meant that the options would be confusing.. Like u need to very sure of wat makes the correct usage of custom tag... HFSJ has all details required.... All the best .....
