Thanks god Passed SCJP 5.0 yesterday scoring 81%

I want to thank all people who helped me during my study, specially my mother, brother and friends: shady, nour, mourad for their continuous support, also special thanks to all people who wrote posts in this great forum.

Java experience: currently I am a PHP programmer, I didnt write 1 line of java code since 3 years, when I took java in my university(in egypt), also at that year I studied for SCJP 1.3 but I didnt attempt the exam.

Study duration: 3 months 10 days (beside work)

Study Material:

1-Complete java 2 certification study guide, Fifth Edition Philip Heller
(Dont study from that book if u r attempting the 5.0 exam it is USELESS)

2- Java 2 v5.0 (Tiger) New Features Herbert Schildt (Good book)

3- Sun generics tutorial.

4- K&B (unfortunately... it came late so I used the 2 Min Drill and Exam watch sections and solved some self test questions which helped a lot)

5- The Great Whizlabs Simulator (if we put aside wrong question answers , out of scope questions and the DnD question scoring )

6-This Forum

1-Study Hard ( try to understand every thing )
2-Take Notes
3-Make Code for every Objective... The exam is performance based so if dont have mush experience . Build one as I did
4-Solve as mush exams as you can
5-Make general rules and abbreviations ( I combined operators precedence descending order- in one word UASC BSCA where U=Unary A=Arithmetic S=Shift .etc )
6-Read posts in this forum

Final note: whizlabs exams are mush harder than the real exam this is for our sake but dont let your score in whizlabs decrease your self confidence (I got 62% in the last whizlabs exam and that was one day b4 the real exam.

Wishing you all GOOD LUCK in your exams
