Hi,

I just wanted to share that I passed the SCJA Exam with an 84%. I have my SCJP 1.2 certification, but I received that in 2001. My goal for this year is to get the following certifications: SCJA, SCJP 1.5, SCWCD, SCBCD. I currently work as a Java Developer.

Study time took 6 weeks. The tools I used are as follows:

ExamScam Study Guide and Test Questions books
Head First Java
Head First UML Guide
WhizLabs SCJA Prep Software
Sun Practice Certification Tests

I started out by reading the ExamScam through once thoroughly. I took the quizes after each chapter and re-read the chapter if I missed 2-3 questions. I took the exam at the end of the book as well. After reading ExamScam I used WhizLabs software to practice taking the test. Whizlabs software identified some weaknesses and I used the practice tests to point out areas for more study in the ExamScam. I also used Head First Java to go over a few points such as RMI.

I took the Whizlabs tests until I could pass all three practice exams with 100%. Then I took the final a couple of times until I scored 100%. I then used the Sun Practice exams for my final prep. I took each Sun exam twice. My scores where in the mid 80s and low 90s. Although the first test I took I scored a 73%. I scored low on that test because I didn't pay attention to the number of answers that were required for some questions.

All in all ExamScam and Whizlabs are great tools and I highly recommend them for test prep. And the HF UML guide is really all you need to know to pass the UML part of the Exam.
