Hi all,

I started preparing on 7-Feb. I wrote the exam today and passed it (80%). Prepared only using HFEJB. This book is more than enough.

Well, I have some prior experience on Stateless Session bean.

Actually I used Whizlabs SCBCD similator, but its very tough and pure waste of time.

My advice,

1. Understand the concept
2. Trust only HFEJB

Regards,
Prasanna

Congratualtion buddy.
This is indeed a good score.
Even I am preparing for the same and came to know that Whizlabs simulator is indeed tough.

Best wishes
Rohit.

Congrats!

Eight days? Whooh! Does this include some sleep? Kidding

I knew this is possible. But don't stop there. Continue reading further and deepen your knowledge.

Yup simulators are sometimes overkill. The actual test is more straightforward than those tricky mock exams.

Congratulations Prasanna.

Isn't it better if the practice tests are tougher than the real exam? Generally I prefer that way rather they being easy. Can you eloberate on whizlba's experience. I bought whizlabs scbcd kit and intending to take the mock tests.

Hi,

Yes, our products are tough and that is intentional. If you look at the experience of the so many successful people at JR who've used Whizlabs products, you will see that they got immense value because of the toughness of the mock exams.

Best wishes,
Pradeep

No spec reading. Just read the Head First EJB. Thats more than enough.

I have used no simulator except Whizlabs. I took couple of test in Whizlabs failed both the times (50% and 54%). Got irritated and deteremined not to use it again. Went back to HFEJB, revised it completely.

The real exam has question just from that book. Don't waste your time in reading specs and in simulators.

Eight days includes 8 hour sleep every day. Actually I am under pressure to write the exam for better rating in my appraisal. And I didn't had any work in office. SO I just spend time in preparing for exam for the whole day.

Congratulations

For people passing exams just for the hell of it, that may be true. But for people interested in understanding deeper, I don't think that this is a waste of time (especially concerning the simulator).

Come on dude.

Unless your a sales person of simulator products you wouldn't be saying this. I hold following certifications

1. SCJP
2. SCWCD
3. SCBCD
4. SCEA (part I)

I am saying that simulators are not necessary for SCBCD only. I used simulators extentisvely for SCJP. Especially javaranch cow quiz.

Why a application developer should be reading EJB specs ? Specs are meant for different people (especially container developers). Application developer should understand only the concepts in depth.

Congratulations!!

I've been preparing for this certification too.
What was your score at the final mock exam from HFEJB?
Do you think the real exam is easier than this mock?
What's the next certification you wanna take?

Good one. I'm seeing people here just pass the WCD and BCD exams in just days. This is all what the Head First Book has done. Congrats for the pass and my applauds for the Head First group!
