Hi all,

Just coming in from the testing center and i am very proud to announce that i pass my Scjp5.0 with 69%. not a good score but good to me since it was my first attempt. Thanks one more time to bert bates and kathy sierra for an excellent book. Wow you guys are making good money and helping us out .

But i would like to add one thing. the questions in the book are really hard and i was failing the exams up and down. i went to the testing center and scored a second record in Memphis 54 minute lol.

anyone want to ask some questions email me or you can post here.

Thanks
Suleman Zia

p.s: i hate generics and threads sucked big time.

Sharan,
I would not say very easy. if it was that easy i should have got a good score. Its allrite what i found really hard was the generics part and threads. there were some really easy question on threds like

Thread.sleep(3000);
System.out.println("sleep");

something like that and 4 questions were related to classpath and package which i am sure no one should miss it if they know about jar files and classpath. and yes one more thing this is valid.

public static void main(String[] yahoo) {
for(int i=0; i<yahoo.length; i++)
}

dont answer compilation fails because it will compile. this question came in the enthuware software and i thought it will not compile but actually it did and enthuware software saved me.

one question from priority queue:

something like this which also was in enthuware and the answer to this is ?

apple orange

hope this helps. any more questions feel free to ask.

thanks a lot suleman.
By the way is the problem with Drag & Drop questions persist?i.e. the answers get deleted if we review them?m i correct the problem was only if we choose to review them?

Hai Suleman,
First of all congrats for your score
One thing i want to know is ,can we expect that we could get result s
higher than what we generally get in MockExam
iam unable to guess at what position we would be in real exam
Any problem about Drag and Drop question??
thanks in advance

thanks sarvanti.

if your score is 60 in the mock exams then you will get atleast 70 or 80. remember i passed couple of mock exams. most of them i did not pass, but i the questions i got wrong in the mock exams i went over the explanation thoroughly and it helped me alot.

Drag and drop questions are easy only one question stumped me when they asked something about generics. That was the only one i missed it. if you try to revise the drag and drop question then your old answer is going to be deleted. trust me except the generic part for the drag and drop you dont need to change any of your answer. it was that simple.

there was one question for drag and drop on Filereader, bufferedreader on how to read the contents of the file.
one question on Math.PI, Math.E
one question on thread
one question on package, import
on question on list

hope this helps.

hi suleman
First of all congratulations for your score.
Did you buy only enthuware. Is it worth buying.
Can you suggest scjp1.5 mock exam links. Iam able to find only scjp1.4

public static void main(String space space [] space space args) {

i didn't know the above was compiled or not. First time, i selected, "NOT compile". Second time, "Not compile", Third time, fourth time, ...
If I had read K&B some 20 pages, then...

Hi rajeshwari.

ENthuware is a great software. you will get an idea about a real exam and some of the questions were also same. i did not tried any mock exams except from Javaranch.
i read K and B book, enthuware software and thats all.

Dont worry if you fail all the exams on the cd for K and B book. They are hard and i failed each one of them, but was able to pass the real exam since it was not that hard except generics part.

Hope this helps.

Thanks rahul

Congrats Suleman,

We figured that you'd be REALLY mad if our mocks were too easy!
