71 correct out of 72 questions. It really bothers me that some Flow Control question out there denied me the bragging rights of being a "perfect" Java programmer.

Anyway, many thanks to Kathy and Bert for their amazing book. Not only was it an excellent certification preparation resource, but it was also just a fun (and at times funny!) book to read. How many computer books can you honestly say that about?

Many thanks to the ranchers here who helped me in my learning. I knew it was a bit foolhardy to squeeze all my preparation within two weeks, but you guys helped me make it work somehow.

Now where did I put that link to purchase my SCWCD and SCJD exams...?

Thanks for the congratulations. I already have fairly substantial Java programming experience, so that was definitely a big help when it came to topics like Concurrency and API Contents. Even without that, however, Kathy & Bert's book covered pretty much all the content I needed for my test.

If I had any "secret" at all, it was this: in the 2-3 days right before my exam, I "crammed" by purchasing the WhizLabs SCJP 5.0 preparation kit and going through all their quizzes and mock exams while keeping a copy of my Eclipse IDE open. Whenever I encountered a question I was uncertain about, I flipped over to Eclipse and tested my understanding by writing and running real code, and did that until I felt I thoroughly understood the issue being tested. This was especially valuable for figuring out some of the really subtle details of overloading/overriding/shadowing.

And, of course, I tried to answer questions in the SCJP forum here. That really helped refine and reinforce a lot of what I'd learned.

Hope this helps someone out there. Good luck to you all in your own SCJP journeys!
