I passed SCWCD 5 today.

I prepared with the Head First book and solved some Mock exams from jDiscuss & Whizlab.

The question set was a bit more difficult than I expected it to be. But anyway, I am happy that it's done.

Hey Man, Congratulation to you. You have done well enough in exam!!!

I have recently passed out scjp 1.5 with 97%. I would like to go for scwcd 5. Can you give me some basic information for this exam like which books you have read, how much time you have done prepation and also some good points to take for this exam.

Hey Kunal,

Here is my preperation for the test:

Good Books:
-----------
1. Head First Servlet and JSP
2. SCWCD Study Kit from Manning

Time taken: 3 weeks

I got too many questions from Custom Tags & EL.

Its a good idea to run through the spec docs as well. But first concentrate on the HFSJ book.

If you need more information, let me know.

No it's the old one. But as there isn't as such a difference in SCWCD 1.4 and 5 (except Java 5 advanced features), so one can read the old HFSJ.

HI Anirban ,

What are the new topics you got questions in the exam?
did you get any questions on generics?

No. I did not get any question from any of the new features of Java 5. All the code snippets were based on Java 1.4. But I think, it would be wise to get familiar with the 5 features, as later they may convert the code snippets.

I agree. Here's the link: http://ej-technologies/jprofiler - if it wasn't for jprofiler, we would need to run our stuff on 16 servers instead of 3.
