Hi all,

Passed the certification with 84%.

Ironically, I scored the lowest (40%) in the first objective (XML Web Service Standards). Apparently showed me (rather painfully) that I need to concentrate on the bare basics before learning advanced concepts

My list of items used for preparation (gleaned mostly from fellow ranchers in here):

1. RMH - The bible. Read this 5-6 times cover to cover. (MUST)
2. Blueprints - MUST read chapters 3,4,5,7,8
3. MZ notes - Excellent source for revision. Helped me greatly specifically for Security and JAXB.
4. xyzws quiz - A little ambiguous sometimes but helpful nonetheless. (Dont take the test more that twice. The questions start to repeat.)
5. Securing Web Services (Jothy Rosenberg, David L. Remy) Chapters 1,6,7,9 - Skimmed through due to time constraints. I strongly suggest you read the security section in MZ notes before you touch anything on security.
6. Worked on IBM RAD/WAS to gain basic experience developing and deploying web services.

Preparation span was 7 weeks - 2-3 hrs/day, 7-8hrs on weekends.

All in all, I am relieved I was able to clear this exam.

Thanks very much to all you guys on javaranch for guiding me through this and best of luck to all the people taking this exam.

Cheers

Thank you

I took it twice and scored 80% on both. The level is similar to the one on the actual exam.

Cheers.

Thank you

The book is J2EE Web Services by Richard Monson Haefel (RMH). (I referred to it as the Bible becuase it gives a good overview of Web Services and is a must read)
