I purchased the ePractice exam Reason: - only exam ard that is for SCEA 5 - the price is actually cheap as compare to whizlab (SCEA 2)
For the materials used.....i will list it by section ok? Hope this list help those who are preparing the certification too
Section 1-
Practical Software Estimation: (M. A. Parthasarathy). (Note: I didn't read this book... for this section actually quite straight forward... if you have purchase the ePractice exam, from the answer & reference you will be able to tell what is reqd in the exam)
Section 2-
http://java.boot.by/scea5-guide/ch02.html Note: can't find any reference for the objective "Explain appropriate and inappropriate uses for web services in the Java EE platform"
Section 3-
http://java.boot.by/scea5-guide/ch0.html Nicholas Kassem, Enterprise Team. Designing Enterprise Applications with the Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition, Second Edition
I agree with Anderson about the score. Being SCEA certified is like being pregnant - either you are or you are not. You are! (SCEA certified that is, not pregnant).

Congratulations Selina,
Could you tell me how many and what type of questions you got on JPA and JSF. Also were there any questions related to J2EE API, or all the questions were of the format like which technology to use for a given business scenerio.

Can't rem exactly how many questions. JPA - there're questions on both application of Java EE technology and java EE API. usu. asked tog with EJB 3 JSF- If i didn't rem wrongly all are on application of Java EE technology. ie given a scenario, which technology to use; correct usage of JSF
Sorry for the vague answer coz I can't rem the question exactly now...

well... i thk in total i spent ard 1-2 mths study for the certification. Each week I will dedicate 1 day to study the different sections of the certification.
Btw it took me longer as I'm not familiar with patterns....so for those who already know maybe the time spent will be shorter?
Hope this helps........
