I cleared SCEA 5 with 48 correct answers out of 64 questions. Got just 25% in Common Architectures, 55% in application design concepts and 87% in the rest. Around 10 questions were straight forward and the rest were scenario based. Some of the topics to focus other than the usual are JPA in the web tier. For a presentation tier scenario, choose among AJAX, html, javascript, JSF with components, JSF with EL , JSP with EL, JSP with JSTL etc. XML over HTTP, webservices, Migration from EJB 2 to EJB 3 and its impact on existing clients.

Congrates Krishna What path did you follow to get SCEA. I mean after SCJP you went through Web application, webservices and then SCEA or through EJBs and how many years of experience in J2ee do you find sufficient for SCEA appearance ? Thanks AleBald. I cleared SCJP last year in June. I have 7 yrs of experience in Core Java/C++/Perl on Unix mostly in server side and the frameworks on which I have worked are mostly company specific, and my assignments were small enhancements and scope of design was within the framework boundaries. I am trying to move towards the next level and so I started preparing for SCEA 2-3 months back and focussed on jee 5 like EJB 3, JAX-WS, JSF. Books used for prep MZ SCBCD5 notes, MZ SCEA 5 notes, Core J2ee patterns, GOF patterns, Cade book, Core JSF patterns, SOA using Web Services, Core Security Patterns, Pro EJB 3, Thanks to this forum, I was able to go thru only the relevant chapters in the above books.
