Hi All,

Today I have cleared my SCWCD exam with 85%. Thanks to all Java Ranchers for helping to clear my concept. Special thanks to Kathy, Bert and Bryan for writing such a wonderful book. I have followed the following study pattern:

Studied only HFSJ ( 3 Times )
Enthuware mock exams

I started preparing SCWCD exam in Mar,2008. I wanted to clear this exam in one months but due to some problem in my job i have to keep it apart. Then I started to study it again in Jul,2008. Marcus was right, It need atleast two months to clear the exam if you don't have any prior experience in developing J2EE applications.
About the exam pattern:

I found it very strange than SCJP, In SCJP, question were a nice blend of all exam objective but in SCWCD, question were like
"first 6 questions - J2EE pattern"
"next Few questions - Session Managment"
"next Few Questions - Custom tag library" and so on..
I mean to say question were Chapter wise. My Bad luck is that, I got the my weakest chapter first.

95% of question will make you think, they will give you some scenario or some condition and will ask us about the solution we would like to implement. I did not find any memory based question. I like this pattern, because now its not memory game, it about your concepts and how well you can implement your knowledge.

I used Enthuware for practice. Honestly Saying I did not find it good and of much help. As Enthuware emphasize on memory but real exam focus on concepts.
However if you clear all the mock exam of enthuware, 99% you will clear the exam. But there is always a difference between clearing the exam and scoring in the exam.
Here is the break down of my score, hope if can help you:

Hi Sunny Jain,

First of all, I would like to wish you for your success.

I am also started studying SCWCD1.5. Could you suggest me the books which you followed for your exams?
Me too in S'pore. I am not able to find SCWCD1.5 (HFSJ) version in S'pore.

Appreciate your suggestion.

~Ramesh.

I bought the HFSJ book from India, but its do available in Singapore. I have seen it.

May be you can try at National Library or there is a book store in Funan ( City hall).
But it is costly in Singapore. I think it will cost you around 80 SGD where as in India it costs me 20 SGD.
