I cleared SCJP 1.5 with 94% yesterday.I felt exam was very easy compare to mock exams that I found on net and Master exam that comes along with K&B book.
About my preparation I read K&B book only, nothing more, I read that book thrice, especially I read the generics topics more and more as it is new to me and some what tough to understand initially.
Then I started taking mock exams, initially I failed several times,in fact I learned more and more,I found, where I was weak and read K&B book again and understood concepts clearly.
Later only i could pass the mock exams. But not with great scores. I got 72% in Master exam that comes with CD. And 83% in Master Exam that I downloaded from net. and almost in same range in all other mocks.i got 98% in Examulator mock. I thought I am doing well. So decided to take real exam.
About real exam it is very easy compare to mocks.I got 68 out of 72 correct,I never got this much in any other mocks, except in examulator, may be because i doesn't include topics like threads and generics much .
I am really thankful to Kathy and Bert for awesome book, that is the best technical book that read in my life.And I am thankful to all people in JavaRanch, these two are my main weapons to clear the exam.
I am SCJP now that really excites me
