This forum will be operated differently than any other forum at the ranch.
The subject line for all new posts in this forum must specify which mock exam and question from that mock exam the thread is about. All discussion within that thread is restricted to the topics covered within that question.
Any other information will be deleted.
In a few months, we should have a short, easy to search list of errata for a known mock exams.

So technically, I should delete this as it doesn't refer to a particular mock exam in the subject line, right?

I think when we have a dozen threads this can be deleted.

OK. How about putting these "posting rules" at the top of the topic? E.g. for the Cattle Drive topic, you've got "The scope of this forum" linked right under the moose. I might actually prefer to have a notice like this put directly on the page rather than thru a link, as long as it's short. That way people are more sure so see it.
Also - do we moderators have any way of editing a subject line after it's been posted? If someone posts an otherwise on-topic message that doesn't correctly ID the exam and question number in the subject line, I'd like to be able to just fix it. The best alternative I see is to move the thread to Programmer Certification (deleting the one in Errata) and tell the poster to try again. Or repost it myself if I feel like cutting & pasting - but then it would appear as my post, not the original author's. Suggestions welcome.

OK Paul, I got your info and also I found out how to post an announcement like the one in the Cattle Drive topic. Tony and Paul, feel free to add to or edit what I put there (it should look familiar to Paul anyway).
As for the upcoming errata list - sounds good. I don't know just what Paul has in mind, but here's what I'd like to see: a web page listing all known online mock exams, all known official errata for exams or books, and links to our own JavaRanch-maintained errata for all the above. Obviously some authors are very good about maintining their own errata, and so our errata would mostly just be a pointer to theirs. Others are more in need of some supplemental info.
We've talked about this a bit in the past in various forums. As several of us have said (including Paul), I don't think we can maintain a master list of sample questions which were created by others, unless they were released to public domain. But we can provide commentary on them, as we have been for some time.

I'm just looking for organized commentary.
I think with a little effort, we can turn this forum into a damn good errata list.
I think creating a second web page is not a good idea. Maintaining it would become complicated as only one or two people would be allowed to update it.
I think web based mock exam owners are not going to provide errata - instead they are going to fix their questions. I think book based mock exam owners might provide errata and we can simply direct people to that.

I don't know why, but when I first read your original message yesterday I was thinking that the last sentence, "In a few months..." meant you were planning an additional upgrade of some sort. Now I realize you meant that this forum itself would be the errata list. So most of my comments were made thinking you were contemplating some additional project. But I see now that's not necessary - this forum should work fine, once we get more people to discover the search function. And now that I know how to post or edit an announcement at the top, I can put additional info up there, like links to other known errata. That should cover what I wanted pretty well.

I'm thinking that over a few months, this forum will evolve into a decent errata list. The more it is used, the better it will get.

In the very very unlikely event you find any errata in my questions (chuckle), you would email me as well as post here now wouldn't you, please, pretty please :-)

Are you saying you aren't going to be a regular here?
I'll try to send you some e-mail. If I forget, I'm sure one of the other moderators will.
Marcus, check your profile. You should add a signature about your site to the bottom of your posts.

I was thinking we should just post it here, thereby forcing Marcus to become a regular in order to defend himself.
But I suppose we could do both.
