hi everybody this is chirag . i am interested in SCJP . but i am confused that which exam will best for me SCJP1.4 or SCJP 1.5 . PLz give me guidance about which one to select,which would be more beneficial to my carrier . thanks, chirag

hi, I think scjp 1.4 will hold market for another one and half to two years.once you clear scjp1.4 you can easily clear scjp1.5.i have heard(not sure) that Sun is coming up with an upgradation exam which if cleared will directly give you scjp1.5 provided first you clear scjp1.4.

I don't think you should worry about 1.4 vs. 1.5. I'm still floating around with a 1.1 on my resume!
If you've got a 1.4 cert, it looks like you're an old-timer, with vastly more experience. In a few years you'll be able to say "Oh, I've been certified since 1.4!!!"
Do what's easiest for you. Get your certification, and show the world how big your brain is. 1.4 vs 1.5 isn't nearly as important as just getting the darn certification.
