dear ranchers,
I fell great inforoming you all that i could successfully cleared Test 488. Its a great feeling.
But it would not have been possible without your help - knowingly or unknowingly all of youst posts had a great contribution to my score. many thanx to all of you. this place is really GREAT. in last few months i've got scjp, scwcd and now websphere.. with great xperience at this place.
here is my story:
i had few months exprience on websphere but on previous version, have good java and design concepts, learnt j2ee concepts sincerely in last few months.
>appeared for mock exam at ibm's site, its good one unlike sun's one for scjp.
>followed ejb by o'rielly
>gone thru various tutorials at http://java.sun.com
>likewise scjp and scwcd, i followed websphere@whiz from http://whizlabs.com, these whizkids have great quality products for j2ee
> gone thru the websphere tutorial at http://www.webspherepro.com/wparchive/was4tutorial/was4Tutorial.html apart from the ibm's one
> read most of the certification messages at this great site
more or less thats it... feel free to bug with me with ur queries.. i owe my success to all of you.

Hello Richard,
Congradulations on your success!.
I'm planning to take 488.My problem is I'm not familiar with VAJ.We're using Together control center (IDE) for our development.
My question is, what level of expertise on VAJ is expected from us.
Thanks in Adv

I hope to do the SCJP this summer.

hi Richard,
congrats ...u must have really worked hard to give all the exams in such short time...
can u tell me how u studied and what u studied for good learning of j2ee concepts and how much time did it take for u to prepare for test 488...
and also did u follow the ibm website's self study plan...does it help with the real exam ?
thanks in advance...

Friends,
Sorry for delayed response as i had to be at client site for my present consulting assignment. For this exam, I had few months hands on exp on websphere but on the previous version, still there are many things which are part of the exam but not commonly used in the practical life; thus i had to dovote some time understaing those issues. I didn't follow the study path given by IBM. I am expecting my next assignment to be on WebLogic or iPlanet. More chances are that client will be accepting to WebLogic and thus I will go for this WLS also. Yes, it is definitely helping me viewing as a careers asset. More than this, i had learnt so well to tackle all kinds of issues.
Best of luck to all who are appearing for it.
Rich
