Im thinking about taking SCWCD certification but before I'd like to hear your opinion on JCert job role.
Do you think that SCWCD is worth ? I've seen some guys complaining that is too easy and demerits the whole thing.
I don't think the same ( otherwise I wouldn't be thinking is taking it would I ? ) but everybody's opinion is important.
Thanks.

I think that it is well worth the time spent. You will learn a lot about the Servlet and JSP specifications that you normally may not be exposed to during the course of your job.
I can not comment on how much the SCWCD certification is accepted in the industry though.

Naturally, I can't speak for everyone.
I found that my SCWCD did help while I was searching for a job last year. The major thing it signified to my potential employers was that I'd taken the time to learn to work with servlets and JSPs, and could probably be trusted to be somewhat competant in the APIs for those objects. (Which is a good thing, since the job I ended up taking mostly involves servlets and JSP.)
But it depends, as with any certification, on what your potential employers are looking for skillwise, and what the competition for the position has as their experience/education.

i hear people talk about sun's certs sometimes, but seldom about jcert. i know jcert is not easy, but name recognization is important for hring managers.
i think jcert will die sooner or later silently.

I'm also studing for the IBM 483 Exam.
Could you please give me some advices?
I'm reading the J2EE Tutorial and EJB 1.1 Specification, both from Sun Microsystems. Are them enough?
What are the most important topics covered in this exam?

Thanks in advance.

You may want to read Enterprise JavaBean from Rich Monson-Haefel, I am not saying this is a good book but I found some concept is tested by IBM so it will be helpful.
And take the ICE test from IBM, for both 483 and 158, any J2EE related test is helpful from ICE, good luck.
