Hi Andy,
Are there questions about EJB1.1?
Do I have to know command line interface (java class weblogic.Admin)?
Can mock questions from BEA be compared to real exam questions?
Thanks Vasja

There is a question about changing from 1.1 ejb to ejb2.0 which WL
tool is there and how to use it?
Yes to questions about command line interface in admin.
Questions on BeA mock are comparable but easier.

Here is link to the BEA process it gives explanation of how to fullfill.
http://certification.bea.com/certification/certification_70_study_guide.jsp
Prepare:
Weblogic 7.0 in 21 days
BEA webologic Server 7.0 Deployement and Administration Handbook
BEA Weblogic Server Bible
Master EJB Roman
Some kind of Servlet,JSP book
Install and run examples on your machine and fool around with code..
Do BEA mock test (the link is somewhere in the news group I have lost it)
Do Whiz lab exam understand all answers and why they are wrong(This is not their best product I have the SCEA and the SCWD and they were better but it is still usefull)

Hello Andy,
Congrats !!! and thats really a lot of reference books.
Can you give us some more info like the kind of work experience you had prior to your cert study, a rough time estimate in the preparation for the certification and so on.
I have used weblogic 5.0 and didnt get a chance to work on weblogic there after. Guess I'll have to start from scratch. Do you think only preparation at home with WL books and some practice with the software will help...or did the exam test a lot of knowledge from your work exp???
Once again .... Congratulations !!!
Cheers,
Karen

This is the millionth and one time this has been discussed(I even asked the question when I started we should have a FAQ for it( mine was the millionth) but
YES YOU ONLY HAVE TO WRITE THE EXAM..
HENCE THE PHRASE .."DO ONE OF THE FOLLOWING"..write exam or take course..
I installed WL7.0 and did prototypes for servlet, jsp, EJB1.1 and convert to ejb2.0, and straight up ejb2.0, web app, ear ,
web service and hence used admin console. I pretty much followed the learn BEA in 21 days. Only thing I am still working on getting is setting up class to interface with RDMS for security.
Time it took me was 21 days.. at night for 2 hours a night but a little more on weekends(8 hours).
I already have the SCEA and the SCWD which aided my success greatly and enabled me to come up to speed and enabled me to focus directly on the Weblogic product and its relation to J2EE instead of having to learn J2EE.
Whizlabs product comments..
1. Was not terrible and as I said I found it useful but..
1. Could use one more test
2. Some questions were wrong.
3. Grammar was a little off..
4. So I would say get it but use it as one part of the prepartion.
5. Just not up to the SCEA and the SCWD level I thought
