Does this book cover best practices for project setup within the WSAD environment? There are several ways to setup project - especially projects that contain many components (EJB, Web...). I've always wondered what the right way is.

Hi Dana,
I believe that the book covers all areas on how to setup and configure project development on WSAD, becos it is one of the major objectives about the 287 test.
Personally, I think it is quite difficult to setup all stuffs and make them run well, especially when I come to the part of DB connection pool and Entity bean pool. I found them difficult to configure becos I used around 1 week time to make all stuffs work fine.
I do hope Howard can give us some hints on setting up the basic environment that suit for scalible application development.
Nick.

Hello Dana,
I suspect that chapters 13 (Packaging and Deployment) and 14 (WebSphere Administration) deal with the issues you raise. Also, you will probably want to check out chapters 8 (Transactions) and 9 (Security) as well as the chapters dealing with the individual components. Hope this helps.
Regards,
