I will take IBM's 287 and 487 tests next 11/29. I don't have any previous experience with J2EE patterns, so I studied the newest ones. I would like to know if IBM's 487 use them. Also does anybody knows any free mock tests about this subject?

What test IBM 487 is? Do you mean 486 UML with OOAD?

I dont think 486 requires any J2EE patterns, so do 287. Only 484 requires us to know J2EE patterns for JSP, Servlets and EJB.
Also does anybody knows any free mock tests about this subject?

I am sorry, because I did a mistake. The exam is IBM Test 484 "Enterprise Connectivity with J2EE V1.3". Its objective state: Section 1 - Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) Architecture (18%) 1. Select and apply appropriate J2EE technologies to design the desired multi-tiered architecture 2. Evaluate tradeoffs in designing distributed systems 3. Select appropriate J2EE design patterns 4. Assign responsibility to appropriate layers to optimize maintainability, scalability and performance I studied the book "Core J2EE patterns 2nd Edition". However I know that this new edition added new patterns and renamed some of the old ones. Because I will take the test next weekend, I would like to know which "J2EE design pattern" they want to evaluate.

Basically, it asks common patterns in Web-Tier, like Services Locator, Transfer Object, Business Deligate, Front Controller and MVC. Nick

Thanks Nick. I appreciate you help. So basically they ask for the same patterns at SUN's SCWCD. Nothing new

As 484 is based on J2EE 1.3, while now, SCWCD becomes 1.4 already. Nick
