This week's book giveaway is in the Agile and other Processes forum. We're giving away four copies of The Mikado Method and have Ola Ellnestam and Daniel Brolund on-line! See this thread for details.
Hello all, I have SCJP 1.2 and SCWCD 1.4 certifications. Which IBM certification can I go for? I did go thru the IBM certification website and it is a little confusing. Should I do 484 - 287 - then 486? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jayanthi.

Personally, I feel 486 is the easiest because IBM 484 covers much more than SCWCD + SCBCD, it also covers JDBC, JAXP, JNDI, JMS, JCA, etc. Thus, for me, the exam sequence is 486 -> 484 -> 287.
Anyway, any sequences is fine, as there is no certificate path constraints for ICED.

That's the natural sequence, More abstract ---> concrete (since 287 is about WSAD, a specific tool)

Hello, Thanks for your replies. I would also like to know the study materials that should be used for these exams. Do I need to install Websphere trial version on my computer?

I would also like to know the study materials that should be used for these exams.
For details, please do a simple search in this forum, using the exam code.
Below lists the books I used: 1. UML Distilled 2nd edition 2. Applying UML and Patterns 2nd edition 3. SCWCD Exam Study Kit 1st edition 4. Head First EJB 5. Developing J2EE Applications with IBM WebSphere Studio 6. Various tutorials from SUN on the topics: JDBC, JAXP, JMS, JCA, etc

You dont need it for IBM 484 and 486, but it is better to have hands-on expereiences on WSAD for IBM 287.
