Hi all:

Today I gave IBM287.
Could get 60%, while 62% was the pass mark.
I could find only a few direct questions and rest of them were tricky.
I got less percentage in
-> testing JB clients
-> tetsing web clients.
I went through the 3 red books, read SCWCD , /kushner and SCBCD syllabus.
Can you please help me out, (as I want to take the exam again )as to what can I read to answer these 2 topics above and for the tricky questions?
I am desperate to clear the exam in the next month..

Please give me a suggestion.

Thanks in advance..

Don`t worry. This certification is going to be withdrawn December 31, 2006:

I think you should take the 256`s exam: http://www-03.ibm.com/certify/certs/rlsdadwsv6.shtml

I am planing to take Test 287 as well very soon(before it disappears).

Were there lots of WSAD specific questions where you had to know the menus and wizards or was it more general questions?

Yeah..there were WSAD specific questions as well as general questions.
My guess was , the general questions were very easy, once you know the in and outs of the functionality.
I felt they were difficult as I am new to this.

Ranchers, please suggest me the material to read to clear the 2 topics that I mentioned in my post.I want to write it before it expires...

Thakns in advance..

"javainn",
We're a friendly group, but we do require members to have valid display names.

Display names must be two words: your first name, a space, then your last name. Fictitious names are not allowed.

You have over 150 posts and an invalid display name. Please change it back immediately or your account will be closed.

thanks,
Dave

Hi David:

Good to remind me of the name change.
No one told me even after posting 150 posts
I am glad , its noticed now, I just got the name change request not earlier than me posting about 100 posts.

Anyways, Thanks,

Most likely what you mean is testing utilities in wsad

The topics you need most likely are those clients automatically provided by wsad for testing you ejbs and web applications, like UTC.

Have you looked at the book: Enterprise Java Programming with IBM WebSphere, Second Edition (Hardcover)
by Kyle Brown, Gary Craig, Greg Hester, David Pitt, Russell Stinehour, Mark Weitzel, Jim Amsden, Peter M. Jakab, Daniel Berg

Hi Jesus:

Thanks for your reply.
I have not looked at that book.
There is 25% covered in the exam from the topic "Design, build and test reusable enterprise components ".
I am not able to get the correct material for this topic.
It would be of great help if I could get some information regarding the same.

Thanks,

"trivikram S",

There aren't many rules that you need to worry about here on the Ranch, but one that we take very seriously regards the use of proper names. Please take a look at the JavaRanch Naming Policy and adjust your display name to match it.

In particular, your display name must be a first and a last name separated by a space character, and must not be obviously fictitious.

Thanks!
Scott
