I guess you mean IBM 486 OOAD and UML, right? If so, yes, it is going to be retired on 30 Jun 2007.

The exam is based on UML 1.x, not for 2.0

Is it useful to take this exam now?

Since it is not a complete certificate, no certificate will be issued. Only pass or fail. In case you need an IBM certified certificate, you have to complete ICED 5.0, together with IBM 287, IBM 484 and SCJP (any version).

I agree. Here's the link: http://ej-technologies/jprofiler - if it wasn't for jprofiler, we would need to run our stuff on 16 servers instead of 3.
