Hi,

I need to take one of these below mentioned certifications exams:
a) Certified Solution developer - WID V6.0.1
b) Certified Deployment professional WPS V6.0

I have worked on Java/J2EE and used Websphere. But I haev no idea about the content, complexity and study notes about the above 2 exams.

Kindly help me in deciding which one I should aim at?How do i go about the preparation? and also how much time would be required for preparation?

Please help and suggest

Thanks in advance
Ratan

The first question is do you want to be a developer or a suped up sys admin that is a wep app deployment/config expert.

If you want to be a developer do Certified Solution developer - WID V6.0.1 .

If you want to be a deployment expert do Certified Deployment professional WPS V6.0

I have know many developers that have converted from dev to support, and support person, like me, that went to development.

The problem with the deployment expert is that all production pushes are in the middle of the night. It is ok if you are working from India where it is thier middle of the day is our middle of the night. I guess if you were admining a Indian site from the US it would not be so bad.
But it really sucks having to stay up all night.

Hi,

Thanks for that information.

I am into development and maintenance as of now.But the role can change also sometimes. So I am keeping both the options open.

Could you provide me information regarding the study material, complexity and preparation time for these 2 exams. Which one can be cleared a bit easily and in lesser time as I have little time constraint also.

I believe both exams are objective (multiple choice)type.

Thanks.

I have not taken either of these exams.

Based on the money you are spending and material of the exam.

I would presume the standard 70 Questions, 2 hr max.
The the question of 50%, 60%, 70% to pass. I have no idea.

If you are unemployeed and with out kids. I would expect a month of prep.
more if you have to deal with life.
