This week's book giveaway is in the OO, Patterns, UML and Refactoring forum. We're giving away four copies of Refactoring for Software Design Smells: Managing Technical Debt and have Girish Suryanarayana, Ganesh Samarthyam & Tushar Sharma on-line! See this thread for details.
I know it is odd to ask but has anyone a project management question on a java site but still is there anyone here who has given and passed PMP. If yes can you please tell me if to readPMBOK is necessary. I have read "PMP in Depth" by Paul Sanghara and just too bored in reading PMBOK. So if you have given the exam how did you prepared. Thanks Imad
I heard from my colleagues who took the exam that the organization requires you to take a 36 hours training course before you can take the exam (unlike Oracle that the course requirement only fall onto the certified crediental). Thus, please make sure that you can take the test before putting in any effort.
Hey thanks for your reply. I know I already have required project management education from the courses I took during my MS. I was just wondering if I can skip PMBOK and the book I read "PMP in Depth" and some practice exam questions are enough.
Well, your book claims to be a study guide. Usually these kinds of books clarify questions like yours in the first few pages (the pages before Chapter 1) to describe if any other resources are necessary for the exam.
