Hi Ranchers,
I am a silent visitor of this forum for a long time. I am preparing for IBM Exam 833 as i come to know from this forum that Exam 486 is going to be retired soon. So i decided to take Exam 833. What are the recommended books and articles and other stuffs for this certification.
I have read in this forum that the exams below are also available in place of Exam 486: 633 - Object Oriented Analysis and Design - Part 1 634 - Object Oriented Analysis and Design - Part 2
How above exams are different from Exam 833 and Exam 834?
I am not sure but i thinks that the resources below (which are also recommended for Exam 486) should be enough for these certifications :
1. http://www.uml.org 2. Addison-Wesley - UML Distilled, 3rd Ed [Scan, OCR, Fowler] - 2003 - (By Laxxuss) 3. Applying UML and Patterns - An Introduction To Object Oriented Analysis and Design and the Unified Process, 2Ed - Prentice Hal 4. And articles on individual topics

Hi Ismail,
My viewpoint differs slightly. UML Distilled is sufficient to pass the ibm tests 633 and 833.
But for exam 834, the objectives are very detailed and apart from what you have suggested, Craig Larman's book is very well written.
For all OMG certifications, just download the coverage map and it clearly states what topics you need to cover from the UML v2 specifications. This also can be downloaded from the OMG website.
The best way to go about this, I feel, is to first clear 833 and OMG foundation exam and then with time clear the 834 and OMG Intermediate exam. We can collate our efforts and resources, mail me at pinto.kenneth@gmail.com
