Hello folks. This morning i've cleared ibm 833 ooad (part 1) with a score of 96%

it was easy!
if you have UML basis and in particular about sequence and communication (ex collaboration) diagram and about use cases you can pass manageably this first test!
you have to know:
- the basis of object orientation (polimorphism and inheritance)
- the principal "analisys activities" of rup (if you want to score the maximum!) and NOT all RUP process
- what are structured classes and what are composed of.
- something about object state (and state diagram)
- RUP 4+1 view

Attention: above consideration are only valid for 833 and not for 834. I don't know yet about 834

if you want other information, i'm here!
hope this help!

Hi giuseppe,

Congratulations ....

Thanks for sharing the learning map. By the what is meant by RUP 4+1 views? And i am unable to download the RMC, do you know any alternate link from where i can download.

And for Object Orientation(Polymorphism & Inheritance) and use cases, larmen book is enough. I dont have much expereince on use cases. And what about UML distilled? do i need to refer it?

Thanks in advance,

RUP 4+1 are the 5 views expected from RUP: use cases, logical, process, implementation and deployment, you have to know what they are of use.
It's strange that you can not download the rational method composer. did you registered from ibm?

for about object orientation, the question was something like:
what are the benefits of Polymorphism
what are the benefits of Inheritance?
so you have to know what are Polymorphism and Inheritance.

use cases are the fundamental of the test, but i think that you can find over internet all the information required.
it's sufficient look for "use case analysis" and "use case realizations" in google and you find all, without any book! I've not used any book.
also in the ibm web site you can find something.

about uml, you have to study the basis: class diagrams, sequence diagrams, communication diagrams, use case diagrams! (1 day is sufficient)

Congratulations ...

I am following the same path you suggested me. Is there any mock exam simulator for this exam? IBM provides some sample questions but they are not enough. There are questions like whats the input for A&D, so do i need to remember all such types of questions, like whats the output of Usecase Analysis. Other type of questions which is think are important are use case analysis is performed in which step of RUP? or in which discipline? Am i right?

What kind of questions you see in exams, i want to know the pattern and types of questions.

I am thinking to take 833 within 2 weeks, so can you please help me. So tell me the type of questions, and also tell me what specific things i need to remember when i study a topic. For example if i am studying architectual analysis, what are the most important things to remember for exam point of view.

Thanks,

RMC software is a free download or trail version?

Yes, of course, and I accept that blame. In fact, i covet that blame. As does this tiny ad:
