Hi everyone.
I am interested in Oracle certifications, and as I am a (
Java) developer, I would be more interested in the Developer cert, instead of a DBA cert. I read and searched and came to a conclusion that I need to pass 2 exams to gee OCA in PLSQL development. However, what concerns me, is that these don't have any particular version, contrary to DBA certs - these have their Oracle 9, 10 and 11 counterparts. Not so for Developer - does this mean there will be an update to the cert in near future (so I should wait a while), or is it so general that it is valid for all Oracle versions? I would think that PLSQL doesn't change that much so I can take it, but I have no certainty.
Also, I can take 3 exams in the first part: Introduction to Oracle9i SQL (1Z0-007), Introduction to Oracle: SQL and PL/SQL (1Z0-001), and Oracle Database SQL Expert (1Z0-047 ). One of these can be taken online (but I generally don't care about this), they differ in the prices. So, how are these different, are any of these more sought be potential employers, are any of these "better" to take?
If I want to become a Professional later, will I have to pass Oracle Forms exams, or can I just concentrate on PLSQL skills? (I don't think Forms will be of much value.)
I am sure this question was here a lot, but is there an Oracle prep book, like there is one for Java certs? And commercial mock
test suites?
Thank you.
